Miraflores de la Sierra is the ideal destination for those who are keen on cycling.  The fact that the town is situated on the slopes of the Guadarrama mountains, and is the starting point to climb both the Canencia and Morcuera mountain passes, makes it one of the meccas of cycling in the Madrid community, and as such in the peninsular itself.  In fact, the Vuelta a España 2015 Bike Tour was decided in Miraflores de la Sierra, and in particular on the steep slopes of the Morcuera mountain pass when F. Aru snatched the lead from T. Dumoulin in the thrilling penultimate stage of the race.

Miraflores de la Sierra is not only the starting point for two mountain passes, it also has innumerable kilometres of forest tracks.  It is difficult to find a better destination for keen cyclists, whether they be mountain bikers or road cyclists.  In addition, this  area of outstanding natural beauty, where visitors can enjoy wooded landscapes, lowlands dotted with ash and holm oak trees, and green meadows, is located within the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.
